At the beginning of the academic year, the months ahead can seem like a vague, disordered and overwhelming mishmash of courses, exams and administration. There are so many important things to take into account, such as deadlines for tuition fees, course registrations, midterms, exam periods, and the list goes on. I have struggled to remember all these, and despite the university often sending out reminder e-mails about important administrative deadlines, it remains very hard to keep track of it all. My tip for you is this:
The academic year calendar of your university will allow you to already familiarize yourself with the structure of the year ahead.
Your university most likely has an overview of the schedule of the academic year. This can vary per faculty, so make sure you use the calendar that is appropriate for you.
A quick Google search like ‘academic year calendar [your university]” can already yield results. Of course, you can also search directly on your university’s website.
